A Strong Woman & Loving Mother
Lurice I. Tatum died on Sunday March 24, 2013 in Sacramento, California. She passed away peacefully, with family by her side after loosing her battle with liver disease.
Lurice, more commonly known as Reece, was born to the late Luther Farris and Willodean Farris on September 11, 1950. She was born in Coffeeville Kansas, but grew up in Pueblo, Colorado where she graduated from Central High School.
Reece spent most of her adult life in Denver, Colorado serving in various community organizations and at her church Heritage Christian Center. She was a dedicated and loving mother, enjoyed entertaining and known for cooking a variety of excellent food for family and friends.
Later in life, Reece moved to Sacramento, California; where she worked for Hewlett Packard as a Government Contracts Specialist. She enjoyed traveling, shopping and spending time with her children and grandchildren.
Preceded in death by her parents Luther James and Willodean Farris; and also brother Terry Farris: Lurice was survived by her children Tammy Bennett, Wilmington, NC.; Toni (Alexander) Navy, Morgan Hill, CA.; Brian Tatum, Sacramento, CA.; and Shannon Tatum, Ft. Lauderdale, FL.; three sisters and one brother Carol Neely, Flint, MI.; Larry Alexander, Denver, CO.; Gwen (Charles) Love, Pueblo, CO.; and Marsha (Michael) Jones, Denver, CO.
